Paul Walker’s last wishes found in his will could spell out a future legal battle for his daughter’s custody and estate.
According to TMZ, Walker left his $25 million estate to his 15-year-old daughter Meadow Walker. However, Paul Walker III, the late actor's father, has petitioned the court to have his son’s mother Cheryl to become the legal guardian of Meadow and the estate.
Meadow currently lives with her mother Rebecca Soteros, which means Meadow could be legally forced to live with her grandparents until she’s 18-years-old. Walker’s reasons for having Meadow live with her grandmother were reportedly not clearly stated in his will.
“It's unclear if Rebecca approves, but it's definitely strange that Paul wanted his mom to be guardian since Meadow lives with Rebecca,” TMZ reports.
Walker’s father is expected to appear in court relating to the custody petition in late February. Walker died in a fiery car accident on Nov. 30, 2013.
The “Fast & Furious” actor’s death came as a shock to his fellow cast members, who considered Walker more than a friend. Actor Tyrese Gibson went on “The Arsenio Hall Show” to explain his grieving process and how it emotionally took a toll on him.
"I was just with him four days before it happened. We were on the set shooting and you know, that was a lot of shock and trauma for the family and all of us involved, because he's just such a nice guy," Gibson told Arsenio. "I've never been depressed in my life, but I was very very sad and down, and it took me a minute to shake it.”
"…This is my first interview since it happened, and you know what gave me my smile is really thinking about the fact that I've never seen him cry," he added, referring to Walker. "I've never see him sad and his energy was always up. So why would I be crying and sad and messed up?"
