Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, traveled to Britain on Wednesday to ask for help. He got a pledge that Ukrainian pilots will be trained on advanced NATO fighter planes, which is a symbolic boost for military cooperation in the West against Moscow as the Russia Ukraine war nears its one year mark.
During Zelensky UK visit, he met with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on his second trip overseas since Russian troops invaded Ukraine on February 24 of last year and praised Britain for rallying with Ukraine "towards the most important victory of our lifetime," according to Reuters.
Though, he emphasized the need for combat planes over and time again, calling them "wings for freedom."
During his address at Westminster Hall, Zelensky thanked British lawmakers for their support of Kyiv in the Russia Ukraine war.
Zelensky remarked: "Ladies and gentlemen, I thank you for your bravery. Thank you very much. From all of us."
The Ukrainian leader also expressed confidence that "Russia will lose" in the Ukraine war, which will bring the world's needed transformation, CNN reported.

UK To Train Ukrainian Troops
The UK has declared that it would begin training Ukrainian marines and fighter jet pilots to NATO standards as the Russia Ukraine war continues.
While Ukraine prepares for a fresh Russian attack later this month, Western nations are debating how to boost their support for the country. Although the United Kingdom previously said that sending its aircraft to Ukraine was "not practical," the development of the country's training program indicates a change in stance, per the BBC.
The United Kingdom also declared earlier this year that it will deploy 14 combat tanks to Ukraine. President Zelensky commended UK Prime Minister Sunak for the stern action.
