‘Sex and the City 3’ Movie: Producer Michael King Thinks Sequel is Possible, ‘There’s One Story Left’

Will Samantha, Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte reunite for another "Sex and the City" movie? After a successful run on television as a HBO series and equally successful transition into theaters, "Sex in the City" executive producer Michael Patrick King hinted that a third movie is definitely possible.

Entertainment Weekly was chatting with King about another HBO show he did called "The Comeback" when the conversation switched to Carrie Bradshaw and her girlfriends and whether fans will ever see the ladies on the big screen again.

"The great gift or riches or luck is that I worked on two shows that were so full that they spilled over into people's lives and the characters were rounded enough that you could still wonder where they are," King said.

He pointed out that the show, which aired its final episode in February 2004, is still doing well on TV. Recently HBO aired a marathon on Super Bowl Sunday.

"Sarah Jessica [Parker] and I both know what the final chapter is," he said referring to an interview Parker did. "That doesn't mean it will or should be told, but I do think there's one story left. Whether it ever happens is a whole other situation. But there's four girls, and those girls are still in my mind. There are other stories to tell and characters that haven't even been written yet."

Parker has been very vocal and supportive of the idea that the ladies should reunite for a third movie. In a recent interview with InStyle, the fashion icon and actress said she believes there's still "one last chapter" that hasn't been told.

If a third "Sex and the City" was going to happen, obviously all four ladies would have to be equally as excited as Parker. At first Cynthia Nixon was a little hesitant to play Miranda again. In October 2012 she told The Hollywood Reporter that she was not interested in revisiting the role but seems to have changed her mind.

When InStyle caught up with her a few weeks ago, she said if King was writing the sequel and Parker was onboard, so was she.

As for the other ladies, Kristin Davis told Haute Living in December 2013 that she wasn't sure if the project would come together but it "would be very exciting if it did." Kim Cattrall also seems to be onboard telling ET Canada that she would sign on for a third film if "there was something more to say."
