An Indiana bar banned all Dylan Mulvaney and Bud Light discussions after the owner got tired of all the "hate," the establishment announced in a recent Facebook post.
And as such, those who try to bring up the controversy involving the alcoholic beverage and its partnership with the trans woman influencer will be kicked off from the establishment.
Indiana Bar Bans Dylan Mulvaney - Bud Light Discussion
It looks like Indiana bar-goers may have to find a new topic of conversation. Or if they really could not help it, they might find a new place elsewhere.
According to the Daily Mail, a bar in Indiana has been the talk of the town after making a bold stand. The establishment in the city of Bloomington in Indiana, Fairfax Bar and Grill, announced that they have no place for any talk about the partnership of Bud Light and Dylan Mulvaney.
Conservatives have since kicked off a widespread backlash after the alcoholic beverage brand sponsored two posts of the TikTok influencer to celebrate her gender transition or "girlhood." Mulvaney is widely popular for her series on the video-sharing service, aptly titled "Days of Girlhood."
Anti-trans folks have begun a campaign that boycotts Bud Light. Daily Mail notes that the parent firm of the alcoholic beverage has since lost a whopping $6 billion from its market cap since the marketing collaboration triggered a backlash from conservatives. Besides that, two of the top brass of the giant company have already taken their leave of absence following the controversy.
While others defend the partnership, some are furious about it.
With that, the Indiana bar has notified its customers of new house rules. Newsweek reports that The Fairfax Bar & Grill is now asking its patrons to leave if they want to discuss the controversy.
Why Did Indiana Bar Ban Talk About Bud Light and Dylan Mulvaney?
In a Facebook post, the establishment assured its customers that it supports everyone who enters the bar "no matter who you are or how you identify."
The Fairfax Bar & Grill also made it known that they continue offering the products of Anheuser Busch to their patrons despite the boycott campaign. It states they do not care "who they make special cans for." It is worth noting that Bud Light gave Mulvaney a commemorative can to celebrate a milestone in her gender transition. Since then, other bars have already taken a stand to remove their products following the backlash from anti-trans folks.
On top of that, the bar says in its statement that if customers feel like talking about the controversy, they will have to find another place to discuss it.
The owner of the bar, McKinley Minniefield, told Newsweek that he has zero tolerance for any form of hate speech. With that, he has taken a bold stand on his establishment amid the ongoing backlash hounding Bud Light and Dylan Mulvaney.
