According to CNBC's latest report, Alibaba launched the new AI model on Friday, July 7.

Jingren Zhou, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence's CTO, said the new generative AI will make high-quality artificial intelligence imagery more accessible.

Zhou explained that Tongyi Wanxiang can do this by facilitating the development of AI creative expressions and innovative art for businesses across different sectors.

These include gaming, advertising, design, and e-commerce.

As of writing, Chinese companies, such as Alibaba, have been careful when it comes to releasing generative AI products so that they'll not get on the wrong side of tech regulators.

This is why Alibaba is specifically offering the beta form of Tongyi Wanxiang to enterprise clients.

Quartz reported that the new generative AI model of Alibaba is DALL-E's latest competitor.

Aside from OpenAI's generative artificial intelligence, Tongyi Wanxiang will also compete against Stable Diffusion's DreamStudio and Midjourney.

Like the AI models mentioned, Alibaba's artificial intelligence can also generate images from prompts.

When clients use type in their prompts, Tongyi Wanxiang will produce their desired images in different styles.

These include flat illustrations, 3D cartoons, sketches, watercolor, oil painting, and Chinese painting animations.

With this image-generation technique, Alibaba's new generative AI can achieve content originality.

To do this, the Chinese company powers Tongyi Wanxiang using its natural language processing, knowledge arrangement, and visual AI technologies.

The new generative AI relies on multilingual inputs to enhance its semantic cognition, allowing it to have enriched training.

Thanks to this, Tongyi Wanxiang can achieve more accurate and contextually relevant image generation.

Aside from the Chinese retailer, Huawei also unveiled the third iteration of its Panggu AI model.

The arrival of these new artificial intelligence models is the answer of China to the growing AI products of U.S.-based companies.

Since more and more tech firms are releasing new AI systems, experts estimated that generative AI could add over $7 trillion to the valuation of the world economy in the following years.
