The ex-fiancée of former "General Hospital" actor Johnny Wactor is reacting after he was fatally shot by a pistol-packing thief who was trying to steal the catalytic converter from his truck.
Johnny Wactor, 37, was leaving his side job as a bartender in Los Angeles early Saturday when he spotted three men near the vehicle, according to the Daily Mail.
Wactor approached the men, one of whom looked up and pointed a gun, prompting Wactor to back away and protect a woman he was with before he was shot.
Johnny Wactor's former fiancée has now made a tearful appeal to find his killers and toughen laws.
Actress Tessa Farrell posted an Instagram video that praised him as a loved person and great actor.
Then she went on to address the killer.
"If the person who did this, if you're watching, I'm sorry, but you shot the wrong guy," Farrell said. "You can get a real job. Like, I know the job market's hard but we're all in it together. You don't have to steal, you know. Especially take a life over it? Human life is disregarded too easily."
Farrell says Wactor and her met in 2013 when she moved to Los Angeles. She says they got engaged but were too young and called it off.
She said they remained friends in the years that followed.
The crooks fled in another vehicle and Johnny Wactor was rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made.
Johnny Wactor played "Brando Corbin" on General Hospital from 2020 to 2022.
In a statement, the show said Johnny Wactor "was truly one of a kind and a pleasure to work with each and every day. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones during this difficult time."
He also appeared on the HBO series "Westworld," and wrote and starred in the 2022 short film "Broken Riders," according to the IMDb website.
A GoFundMe for his mother and his brothers has raised more than $50,000.
