President Joe Biden's disapproval rating continues to climb and is higher than Donald Trump's at this point in his presidency, according to a new averaging of the polls by FiveThirtyEight.
Biden's disapproval rating is at 56.3% and his approval rating came in at 37.8%, numbers released by the polling site on Thursday show, leaving him with slightly more than an 18 point gap.
At this point in Trump's term, he had a 52.9% disapproval rating and a 42.6% approval rating.
Biden's disapproval rating peaked at 56.4% on Jan. 14, FiveThirtyEight's averages show, and hovered in the mid-50s until it rose again to 56.3%. His approval rating at that point was 38.4%.
The new figures come as Trump awaits the jury's verdict in his hush money trial in New York City.
He is accused of falsifying records to cover up a $130,000 payment to former porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election to buy her silence about a sexual affair she alleges she had with him 10 years before.
Biden campaigned Wednesday in Philadelphia where he and Vice President Kamala Harris launched a national outreach program to mobilize Black voters.
Despite Biden's unpopularity, he and Trump remain neck-and-neck in the polls.
A Quinnipiac University survey released last week shows Biden with 48% support with Trump right behind at 47%.
