Right wing trolls used an edited video to claim that President Joe Biden was trying to sit in an imaginary chair during a moving D-Day commemoration ceremony in France on Thursday.

RNC Research posted a seemingly "awkward" 13-second clip of the trending incident on social media platform X:

The footage captures the 81-year-old grasping for a chair in the middle of the stage in Normandy, France. The video cut before he actually sat in a chair that was clearly visible in longer versions of the video.

The full video shows Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron shake hands while standing between their wives. The president then briefly looks over his left shoulder, bends over and hovers in that position as U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is announced as the event's next speaker, the Associated Press confirmed.

He then sits down as Macron and their wives.

Biden later spoke at the event.
