Sixteen people, including nine children, were killed when a van plunged from a mountain road into a river in the Himalayas, Pakistani officials said Monday.
Four women died and four other people were injured jumping into the swift-moving water of the Neelam River, in the disputed region of Kashmir. The Himalayan region is split between Indian and Pakistani control, with both nations claiming ownership over the whole territory.
Divers recovered six bodies and are continuing to search for others. Authorities believe there is no chance of finding survivors, according to the Associated Press.
