A California bar patron is being held on $2 million bail after he allegedly killed the bar manager for kicking him out of the establishment.

Leonard Hector Korpie, 26, has been charged with homicide in connection with the death of an unidentified Jameson's Pub manager, according to police in Santa Monica, California.

It's unclear if he entered a plea to the charge or retained an attorney to comment on his behalf.

Police responded to a call of battery just after midnight Tuesday. Korpie and two other patrons were allegedly involved in a brawl outside the bar. The manager stepped in to try to break up the fight when he was allegedly struck, said police.

All three customers were initially arrested. Following an investigation, authorities determined it was Korpie who allegedly delivered the single, fatal blow to the victim, who was pronounced dead at the hospital.

"We are still in shock at the sudden loss of a person who was a respected and esteemed member of our restaurant's family," a spokesperson for Jameson's Pub said in a statement to The Sacramento Bee. "He was well liked by both customers and staff and his passing has been deeply felt by all of us."
