At least 20 thieves bust into Sunnyvale jewelry store for a smash-and-grab in broad daylight.

At least 20 masked and black-hooded thieves brazenly broke into a California jewelry store in broad daylight, smashed glass display cases and quickly fled with the stolen goods.

The suspects fled in multiple vehicles after the weekday afternoon heist earlier this month as police raced to the scene in downtown Sunnyvale an hour south of San Francisco.

Suspects in one of the vehicles began tossing jewelry from the car as police closed in. Only five men were arrested as of Friday.

No one was injured even though the store was staffed by workers during the robbey.

The total value of the stolen jewelry has not yet been provided by police. Some of the jewelry was recovered.

Suspects arrested have been charged with a number of crimes, including armed robbery, felony vehicle evasion, conspiracy to commit a crime, vandalism, possession of burglary tools, and outstanding warrants.
