The man accused of killing a BBC presenter's family in a deadly crossbow attack previously served in the British Army, reports say.
Before Kyle Clifford, 26, was accused in the Tuesday triple slaying of network racing commentator John Hunt's wife, Carol Hunt, 61, and their two daughters, Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25, he did a brief stint in the UK armed forces in 2022, according to The Independent.
It's unclear what led to his discharge.
Clifford was taken into custody Wednesday without incident in a cemetery in Enfield, England, following a massive manhunt, authorities confirmed.
"This continues to be an incredibly difficult time for the victims' family and we would ask that their privacy is respected as they come to terms with what has happened," Hertfordshire police said, announcing Clifford's capture.
It's believed the suspect knew the victims, however a specific relationship and motive remains under investigation.
In a statement to staff, the BBC described the deaths of Hunt's wife and daughters as "utterly devastating."
"Our thoughts are with John and his family at this incredibly difficult time and we will provide him with all the support we can," the network wrote in part, according to CNN.
