A neighbor of BBC presenter John Hunt said one of the victim's had recently broken up with suspected killer Kyle Clifford before he allegedly killed her and her two family members with a crossbow.
Clifford, 26, is accused of killing the host's wife, Carol Hunt, 61, and their two daughters, Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25, Tuesday evening at the family's home in Bushey, England, said authorities.
The Hunts' neighbor Glyn Nicholas, 77, claimed Louise and the suspect recently ended their relationship days before the alleged murder.
"Louise split up with her boyfriend a few days ago and she crashed her car into a telegraph pole because she was so upset coming home," Nicholas told The Telegraph.
"She's a lovely, caring girl. She runs a dog grooming business in Bushey. Her sister Hannah and mother Carol are lovely as well. It's all so sad. Louise was a sweet, lovely girl. They all were. This is so sad for everyone."
Preliminary information indicates the victims may have been bound and gagged before they were killed, however those bindings appeared to have been removed post slaying, a source told The Guardian.
Clifford led investigators on a full-scale manhunt through Wednesday, until he was captured at an Enfield, England, cemetery, confirmed police.
Hunt's fellow BBC presenter Mark Chapman admitted the day had been "heartbreaking" following the news of the grisly deaths of his colleague's family.
"John Hunt is our colleague and our friend, not just to the current 5 Live sport team but to all of those who have worked here with him over the past 20 years and also to all of you who have enjoyed his superb commentaries," said Chapman, at the start of the Euro 2024 pre-match show, Sky News reported.
"On behalf of everybody connected to 5 Live sport, our love and thoughts and support are with John and his family."
Another neighbor of the Hunts, Su Kehinde, remembered the women as part of "the loveliest, gentlest family," according to the outlet.
"They were the meekest human beings. They did not deserve this. They were beautiful souls."
