If you missed last night's (Mar. 16) episode of AMC's "The Walking Dead," stop reading now because this recap contains major spoilers. For those who did watch, how many times did you say "OMG" and scream at the TV?
The episode focused on Carol, Tyreese, Lizzie, Mika and baby Judith as they continued to make their way toward Terminus. However, at the beginning of the episode, the group came across a house and decided to stay for a little while.
The house is secure; they have deer nearby for food, and plenty of water. If it seemed like it was too good to be true, that's because it was. Things went very wrong, very quickly. Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) warned that "crazy s**t" was going to happen in Episode 14 and he wasn't lying.
Throughout the episode, there were little hints that Lizzie was losing her mind. Fans had learned in previous episodes that the little girl was trying to befriend walkers. The first sign in Episode 14 that something really bad was about to happen was when Carol looked out the window of their new home and saw Lizzie playing with a walker.
Lizzie was actually running around the yard playing tag - or whatever game it was - with the young zombie. Of course Carol freaked and ran outside to kill the walker which caused Lizzie to go into a screaming fit. She blamed Carol for killing her "friend."
The second sign of horrible things to come was when Mika caught her sister feeding a rat to a zombie who had got his leg caught on the train tracks. (In case you were wondering who was feeding the walkers back at the prison, it was Lizzie).
Mika sweetly tried to explain to Lizzie that she can't befriend the dead but Lizzie still didn't get it and at one point reached her hand towards the walker so it could bite her and she could show the others that they weren't bad.
Mika probably should have warned Carol but the two girls were suddenly attacked by other walkers and went screaming for Carol and Tyreese. At one point it seemed like Lizzie had finally started to understand that the zombies are bad when she helped the group kill the approaching walkers.
Sadly, she still had horrifying plans to show the group that she thought the zombies were ok. While Carol and Tyreese approached the house, they noticed the little girl holding a bloody knife and Mika lying on the ground.
Thankfully, baby Judith was ok even though Lizzie explained that she was just about to kill the infant. Why did Lizzie kill her sister? In a sick and twisted explanation, she said that Mika would be ok because she would come back to life.
Clearly afraid and stunned, Tyreese took Judith and Lizzie into the house. Eventually, Carol made the tough decision to kill Lizzie to keep her from hurting other people.
We know that's a lot to deal with in one episode but there's more: Carol confessed. If you remember, Carol was banished from the prison for killing Karen and David and in Episode 14 she confessed to Tyreese (who was dating Karen) that she was the one who killed them.
For a second it seemed like Tyreese was going to kill her but he didn't and forgave her. The episode ended with Tyreese, Carol and baby Judith heading towards Terminus.
From the promos, it doesn't seem like Episode 15, titled "US," will be that bad even though Director David S. Goyer warned that something bad will happen. Hopefully, it's not another death.
"I'm doing a 'Walking Dead' this year - the penultimate episode [of the season]," he told i09 over the summer. "I haven't gotten my script yet... I heard it's an episode where something really bad happens."
He also said that they gave him a choice of episodes to direct but he picked Episode 15 (which is the second-to-last for the season) because he feels like those are the ones that usually have "the best and most interesting outings, where a lot of stuff happens," i09 writes.
