Tori Spelling has opened up for the first time about her rocky marriage to actor Dean McDermott. In December 2013, US Weekly broke the news that McDermott was cheating on his wife of seven years with 28-year-old Emily Goodhand.
Now, the former "90210" actress is speaking to the magazine about how life has been following the cheating scandal.
"He was my soul mate, but he completely broke my heart," Spelling told US Weekly. "It makes you not trust anything that's happened in your relationship."
In a sneak peek of the couple's upcoming Lifetime docu-series "True Tori," McDermott admitted that he cheated on his wife. During the clip, the "Santa Baby 2" star said that he was "out of control" and used sex as an escape.
"Sex was an escape, just like drugs and alcohol," he said.
I could never give him enough sex," Spelling cried. "He's never going to be happy with just me."
The two started filming the series a few days after McDermott completed rehab for sex addiction. According to Lifetime, the show will follow the actress and mother of four and will reveal whether the marriage can withstand the cheating scandal.
"I feel so judged, but it's not black and white," Spelling said at one point.
According to E! News, Spelling and McDermott met in 2005 on the set of the Lifetime movie "Mind Over Murder" and started dating while they were both married to other people.
According to Radar Online, at first McDermott was hesitant but was "pressured" by his wife to do the show. Reportedly she signed on to humiliate and embarrass McDermott, Radar reports.
"[Dean] is far from being a willing participant. He felt extremely pressured by Tori to do the reality show," the source said. "Tori told him they had to do it because their fans want to know what is going on with their marriage. Too bad Dean doesn't feel that way."
"True Tori" premieres Apr. 22 on Lifetime.
