It's going to be a long summer without "The Walking Dead" airing on Sunday nights. Season 5 of the AMC show doesn't kick off until October but hopefully all the spoilers will keep fans satisfied until it returns.
A few weeks ago, E! News got some inside scoop on the Season 5 premiere and it sounds like a new character is going to be introduced.
"Our gang may have been in a tight-spot when we last left them, but Rick and Co. are going to be recruiting as many people as possible in order to get revenge on those man-eating freaks who run Terminus," E! writes. "One of the allies we're most excited to meet is 17-year-old Burton. He may be young, but he's already suffered great tragedy when [he] lost his leg. Luckily Burton does not let his disability keep him down, and his positivity is infectious to everyone else around him."
That little paragraph actually gave "TWD" fans a bunch of clues. If E!'s insider knows what they're talking about, then it's pretty much confirmed that the people at Terminus are cannibals. Also we can almost bet that Burton is going to kick some ass when the show returns.
Not much is known about the character and he doesn't seem to be from the comic books. It's also not clear which actor will play Burton but we have a feeling it could be former UGA football player Chase Vasser.
Vasser tweeted that he had landed a role on the show and hinted that his character would be connected to Terminus. On Apr. 3 the athlete-turned-actor tweeted that his agent told him that he "landed a role for SUITS next season" and he had an "audition for The Walking Dead."
On Apr. 14, Vasser updated his followers saying that he had officially been cast in "The Walking Dead."
"It's official! Tune in Oct 13th on AMC for 'The Walking Dead!' #cannibaltwist," he posted, Comiccook.com reports.
He later deleted both tweets but posted that it was probably a good time to catch up on the show. Following his tweets, there was speculation that he could be playing a cannibal but maybe he will be cast as the one-legged Burton.
In other "TWD" news, Chandler Riggs (Carl Grimes) told SpoilerTV at the Salt Lake City Comic Con a few weeks ago that he hadn't read the script for Season yet but confirmed that filming starts soon. Riggs told the site that he had no clue what was in store and couldn't wait to get the script.
He also said that filming was expected to start "in three weeks," which would make that around early May.
