‘Batman vs. Superman’ Movie: Henry Cavill’s Girlfriend Talks Wonder Woman, Supports Gal Gadot as Amazonian Princess

Gina Carono wants to set the record straight about rumors that she was tapped to play Wonder Woman before Gal Gadot was cast. Carono, who is Henry Cavill's on-again/off-again girlfriend, told the Toronto Sun that she was never approached for the role.

Many superhero fans pegged the MMA fighter-turned actress for the role of the Amazonian princess because of her fit frame. Many believed she had the perfect look to play the female superhero in Zack Snyder's "Batman vs. Superman."

"I was never approached, and I don't know if I was considered," she told the newspaper.

Carano said she is excited the role went to Gadot and thinks the actress will do a great job.

"She's such a great person with such a solidness in her character, so I'm very excited for her to do that," Carano sai, adding that she and Gadot were co-stars in "Fast & Furious 6."

Carano also addressed the negative criticism Gadot received. Many fans lashed out claiming that Gadot was "too skinny" to play Wonder Woman.

"I think people have an idea what they consider Wonder Woman. I definitely know [Gadot] had been training and there's so much more than goes into being a strong female character," she said. "I think people have their own idea, but I always like the underdog, I'm always rooting for the underdog. If the world says you can't do something, I couldn't care less because that's not how anybody should live their lives."

In related news, Warner Bros. is reportedly considering developing nine other DC Comics movies after "Batman vs. Superman" and the upcoming "Justice League" films.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the films will include "Shazam," "100 Bullets," "Fables" and "Metal Men." The newspaper reports that Warner Bros. has no plans to make a solo Wonder Woman movie.

"Warner has now entrusted its core superheroes to "Man of Steel" director Zack Snyder, who will helm 'Superman Vs. Batman" and then 'Justice League.' It also has nine other movies based on DC Comics in development," WSJ wrote.
