Dean McDermott is laying it on thick. The "Chopped Canada" star and his wife Tori Spelling celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary on May 7 even though their relationship is on the rocks. According to reports, McDermott was spotted on May 5 buying Spelling some lingerie from Victoria's Secret and jewelry from Tiffany and Co.
A source told People magazine, that the actor buys Spelling a new ring every year and wanted to keep the tradition going. To celebrate eight years of marriage, he bought a vintage Neil Lane Renaissance-inspired ring set in 18-carat gold with sapphires, rubies and yellow peridots.
Reportedly it cost anywhere between $10,000 and $25,000.
"Dean wanted to keep the tradition and celebrate their anniversary and 'love story' with a very special ring set in gold - and this one is really cool with lots of color," Lane told People. "He loved the multi-color and he wanted gems. It's very stylish and different. He wanted to get a really special jewel, something meaningful - he wanted to show up for Tori with a beautiful ring."
"Dean seemed really excited to give her the ring," he added. "And he texted me and said Tori was thrilled, that she loved it. He said it was her favorite ring of all the years!"
According to People, they also enjoyed dinner at Kutsuya in Los Angeles and US Weekly claims the two shared a couples' massage. Spelling and McDermott are currently trying to fix their marriage after the actor was caught having an affair with 28-year-old Emily Goodhand.
News of the two-day affair broke in December 2013.A source told People that the anniversary gifts might be a step in the right direction for McDermott and his relationship with Spelling.
"[Doing the show], Tori is showing Dean that she's willing to stay married," the source said. "But she's not going to make it easy for him."
