Chris Brown appeared in court on Friday, May 9 and admitted that he violated his probation by beating up a man outside a hotel in Washington D.C. According to TMZ, a judge sentenced the 25-year-old to at least four more months behind bars.
Initially Brown was sentenced to one year in jail but he received credit for completing 116 days in rehab and 59 days in jail. TMZ reports that the "Love More" singer has 131 more days to fulfil the sentence but he could be released by next weekend.
Sources told the site that the L.A. County Sheriff's Department has been releasing inmates sentenced to one year after 240 days. Reportedly Brown is only six days shy of that 240 mark. According to TMZ, the judge could have been a lot harder on the pop star and sent him to prison for four years but went easy on him because Brown was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
The judge also order Brown to go to therapy sessions with a shrink twice a week and he has to submit to random drug testing three times a week.
In related news, there were reports that the "Run It" singer was ready to get serious with girlfriend Karrueche Tran. A source told Media Take Out that Brown popped the question - without a ring - to the model while in jail.
"According to our insider - who is COMPLETELY CREDIBLE - Chris and Karrueche's relationship has grown STRONGER THAN EVER since he's been locked up," MTO writes.
Reportedly, Brown told Tran that once he's released from jail he plans on marrying her. The source told the site that Tran was extremely happy to hear her boyfriend say that.
