Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson are finally getting hitched! The couple, who has been engaged since 2010, will reportedly tie the knot at San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, Calif. on July 4. Simpson and Johnson had set two previous wedding dates before but the nuptials were put on hold because, as Simpson put it, "Eric keeps knocking [her] up."
The two are parents to daughter Maxwell, 21 months, and son Ace, 11 months.
"Jessica wants it to be the hugest, grandest event of the year," a source told In Touch magazine. "She's calling it a "supersize wedding!'"
The source said the low-key wedding will "feature a barbeque spread and fireworks" and the singer/fashion designer will walk down the aisle in a pale pink, custom-made Marchesa gown.
"It took her over a year to decide on it!" the source said about the wedding gown.
Simpson and her former NFL player fiancé were originally going to get married in Capri, Italy but "decided it was 'too much' to ask their friends to fly to Europe," a source previously told US Weekly.
Earlier this month the couple celebrated their upcoming wedding with a co-ed bachelor/bachelorette party. According to People magazine about 40 people, including bridesmaids, groomsmen and Johnson's former teammates, attended the bash at the Warwick in Los Angeles.
Simpson's mom, Tina, and Johnson's dad also celebrated with the couple and their friends.
"It wasn't about being naughty," a source told People. "They just wanted a great night out with their friends and family."
"They didn't want a traditional bachelor-bachelorette where they go off and do their own thing, because our group of friends is so close we just wanted to all be together," Simpson's longtime friend and bridesmaid, Stephanie Terblanche added.
"This is what we would do anyway. We would all go out, and I think that this speaks for the group. If we are not going to be at someone's house hanging out playing beer pong, this is the closest thing to it," Terblanche said.
