Kevin Smith took to his official blog to clear up rumors claiming he is responsible for a leaked "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" script making the rounds on movie sites.
Smith claimed he is not involved with Warner Bros. or the "Batman v. Superman" production. The filmmaker said he has kept himself busy with five of his personal projects, including "Clerks III," but no none of the said projects have been to create a fake script.
"C'mon, kids... No major studio would let a guy like me near their franchises - even if it was for a dummy script meant solely to fool the news sites," Smith wrote in his blog. "No, anything I've said about 'Milo and Sage' was based on an image Zack showed me while hosting a 'Man of Steel' online event at Yahoo many months back.
If @SonofArrogance really wrote that #BatmanvsSuperman script in 5 days then every lit agent and manager I know should be trying to sign him

"The little I know of the flick beyond that I learned from some cats involved (though never BatFleck himself; as I've said a few times now on the Babble-On podcast, beyond email, I haven't spoken to Ben in years). Fun story, though." Smith added a Twitter user going by the name "Arrogant Alien" claimed he is responsible for the fake script. According to "Arrogant Alien's" tweets, it took the DC fanatic a week to create the fake script and "leak" it movie websites.
@alfred_green Honestly it was a experiment to show the darkside of fanboyism and gossip site culture. I didn't expect it to go this far. — Arrogant Alien (@SonofArrogance) July 8, 2014
The rumors that were reportedly based on the fake script were about potential "Batman v. Superman" villains. The Latino Review originally reported Victor Zsazs, David Cain and Morgan Edge are the main villains for the film.
The Latino Review's El Maymbe has responded to "Arrogant Alien's" allegations on his Twitter account. The movie reporter claims there is something "fishy" about user's story.
@K27_Paulino How do we know if he is even legit? First the lie was that Smith wrote it, now him. Something is very fishy. — Umberto Gonzalez (@elmayimbe) July 8, 2014
The "Batman v. Superman" production hasn't comment on the rumors. "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" will be released to theaters on May 6, 2016.
