Ben Affleck’s new Batsuit is causing some unfortunate discomfort for the actor and possibly slowing down production.
The Daily Star reports inside sources claim Affleck is uncomfortable in his Batsuit, which takes about 30 minutes to put on. Affleck reportedly has to take the suit on and off several times a day and is extremely restrictive.
“The suit is extremely restrictive. Ben finds it hard to perform basic tasks and struggles to look natural,” the source said. “He’s also been complaining of problems with breathing, given how tight the suit is.”
Affleck is also avoiding taking bathroom breaks because it would cause the production to come to a halt.
“He’s constantly trying to avoid going to the toilet because it’s such an ordeal,” the source said. “…The entire production has to stop and begin the tedious process of peeling the suit on and off. It’s not an ideal situation.”
“Dark Knight” trilogy actor Christian Bale warned Affleck of the difficulties regarding the Batsuit. During an interview last fall with “Access Hollywood” (via Batman-News), Bale revealed the one piece of advice he gave to the new caped vigilante.
“The only thing I said to him is look, just make sure he can take a piss without anyone having to help him because it’s a little bit humiliating when you have to have someone help you out of the costume in order to do that. That was my main piece of advice for him,” Bale said.
Unfortunately, it looks like Affleck will be stuck with the costume for a few years. The Latino Review reports Affleck will star in his own "Batman" film.
"The question is whether Affleck will direct the stand alone Batman film," Latino Review reports. "It is a good possibility since Affleck is now one of the studio's signature stars headlining as one of its signature characters whose last directorial effort Argo took home the best picture Oscar.”
“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” will be released to theaters on May 6, 2016.
