'Batman vs. Superman' Movie Update: 'Dawn of Justice' Production Is Heading to Chicago

The “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” production is reportedly heading to Chicago this fall.

Chicago Tribune journalist Luis Gomez tweeted the Chicago Film Office confirmed the production is heading to their city in late-October. Batman-News reports Chicago was the setting for fight scenes between Superman and General Zod in “Man of Steel.” The production also used the Chicago Board of Trade Building for The Daily Planet building.

The “Batman vs. Superman” production is also planning a big car chase in early August. OLV reports the film will take over 15 blocks along Sixth and Abbott St in Detroit’s Corktown district in Michigan. Warner Bros. has sent out notices to local business warning them to expect “fast moving cars” and smoke.

The production hasn’t confirmed the Batmobile will be involved in the car chase, but hopefully Ben Affleck doesn’t have to wear his Batsuit. The Daily Star reports the Batman actor is uncomfortable in his new costume.

“The suit is extremely restrictive. Ben finds it hard to perform basic tasks and struggles to look natural,” the source said. “He’s also been complaining of problems with breathing, given how tight the suit is.”

It takes Affleck about 30 minutes to peel the suit on or off, according to the Daily Star. The actor is reportedly avoiding Bathroom breaks to prevent having to stop the production.

“He’s constantly trying to avoid going to the toilet because it’s such an ordeal,” the source added. “…The entire production has to stop and begin the tedious process of peeling the suit on and off. It’s not an ideal situation.”

“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is slated to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
