There's another royal baby on the way! Kate Middleton and her husband Prince William are expecting their second child, Clarence House announced Monday morning (Sept. 8) on Twitter.
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child," the statement read. "The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news that Their Royal Highnesses are expecting their second child."
The royal family did not reveal a due date for the baby, but according to reports Middleton is still in her first trimester. The couple, both 32, welcomed their first child, Prince George, July 22 of last year. According to the Los Angeles Times, the royal couple decided to announce the news because Middleton is suffering severe morning sickness again and had to cancel an appearance in Oxford.
Clarence House said in a statement on their website that she was being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace.
"As with her first pregnancy, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum," the statement read.
It's not clear if the Duchess will be in attendance for future events. Middleton's first pregnancy sparked a national "Royal Baby Watch" and social media users have already flocked to Twitter to congratulate the couple.
"Probably won't be this excited for my own baby #royalbaby #round2!!!!" @k8_mcmillsn tweeted.
"You know the week's gonna be great when you wake up to news that Royal Baby #2 is on the way! Yay. #royalbaby," @jessicahui wrote on Twitter.
"Prince George is going to have a little brother or sister, aww so exciting! #royalbaby," @SophieJoxx posted.
"Many congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. I'm delighted by the happy news that they're expecting another baby," British Prime Minster David Cameron wrote.
The baby will become fourth in line for the throne, pushing Prince Harry to fifth in line. Prince William is second, followed by Prince George as third in line.
