'Batman vs. Superman' Movie: 'Star Wars' Stormtrooper Gets Caught By GCPD Attempting To Steal Batmobile (PHOTO)

Looks like “Star Wars” Stormtroopers are leaving the Empire to cause havoc on the “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” set.

Director Zack Snyder shared the above image of a stormtrooper getting arrested by the Gotham City Police Department for attempting to steal the Batmobile. Snyder captioned the image with, “Case Closed.”

“Star Wars: Episode VII” director J.J. Abrams and Snyder are currently taking part in an ongoing Twitter war, mashing up their franchises to create hilarious images.

The Twitter war began when Snyder photoshopped an image of Superman actor Henry Cavill as a Sith in honor of San Diego Comic Con 2014. The battles quickly escalated as Abrams responded with an image of “Star Wars: Episode VII” actor John Boyega as Batman.

Next came Snyder’s image of the caped vigilante and R2D2 in the desert with the caption, “Batman and R2BIN.” Abrams’ rebuttal was an image of C3PO as Batman looking over Gotham as the symbol of the Rebel Alliance lit up the night sky.

Little is known about Snyder and Abrams’ productions, but Disney CEO Bob Iger spoke with CNBC's "Closing Bell” back in August about getting to preview the first footage from the “Star Wars: Episode VII.”

"The footage we've seen is very, very exciting to us," Iger said. "I think there's about 500 days left between now and [Dec. 2015] when the movie comes out. That doesn't seem like very long."

Snyder hasn’t commented about the “Batman vs. Superman” movie, but has continuously shared images from the set, including the release of the official Batmobile.

Check out the images for the directors’ ongoing Twitter war in the slideshow above. “Star Wars: Episode VII” will be released to theaters on Dec. 18, 2015, and “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is slated to hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
