The “Deadpool” movie definitely shares a universe with FOX’s “X-Men” and “Fantastic Four” franchises.
Writer/producer Simon Kinberg confirmed there is a possibility “Deadpool”, “X-Men” and “Fantastic Four” franchises could do crossovers in the future, according to CinemaBlend.
"They do all feed into one another in the sense of wanting to tell this sort of massive story that can take place over multiple movies,” Kinberg said.
Kinberg told CinemaBlend the studio is looking to give viewers an "even fuller experience" with their future projects. Kinberg is currently working on the upcoming “X-Men: Apocalypse”, but wants to include the “Deadpool” in the way it makes sense to all the franchises.
"We are aware as we are plotting out Apocalypse and the other X-Men movies – both potential sequels in the future and standalone movies – and trying to build them all together so that there is a singularity of vision,” Kinberg said.
“And obviously a timeline that makes sense as well, because these movies all, well not all, but many of them take place in different time periods, so that all those things will link up and make sense for an audience."
However, Kinberg recently told ComicBook.com he is considering doing an “X-Men” and “Fantastic Four” crossover film in the future.
“I love the characters, I love the characters in Fan Four, and I love the new cast. Obviously I love the characters and cast of X-Men,” Kinberg told ComicBook.com
“So, hypothetically, the notion of putting them together is really intriguing, and there’s some really fun stuff that the comics have done in the past. So it’s not out of the realm of possibility.”
"Deadpool" is reportedly in early stages of production, but "X-Men: Apocalypse" will be released to theaters on May 27, 2016.
