“Assassin's Creed: Unity” introduces new characters in the latest teaser for the next-gen exclusive title.
Fans of the franchise have already met Assassin Arno Dorian, but the newest video reveals Napoléon Bonaparte, the Marquis de Sade and Robespierre are also supporting characters in the story.
However, Arno’s most important relationship is the one with his Templar friend Elise de la Serre. “Assassin's Creed: Unity” Creative Director Alex Amancio spoke to the official “Assassin's Creed” DevBlog back in August regarding the importance of Arno and Elise’s relationship.
“Elise is not Arno’s sister,” Amancio said. “They grew up together but never shared a brother/sister relationship. They became fast friends and, as the years went on, they eventually fell in love.
“Elise was born into a noble family, a very influential family. Her family’s influence greatly surpassed their title and that is because of their Templar connection.”
Though Arno and Elise grew up in the same household, they didn’t necessarily share the same experiences. Elise’s Templar identity was kept a secret from Arno and her training was masked through seemingly common things like fencing classes and history lessons.
“Elise had a very privileged childhood, she would never want for anything, but she wasn’t interested in sitting around and doing nothing,” Amancio said. “She’d rather be hanging out with the servants playing pharaoh than going to a ball. She has always been one for adventure and, more often than not, would drag Arno along, getting him into trouble.”
“Assassin's Creed: Unity” will be released to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Nov. 11. Check out the cast trailer for “Assassin's Creed: Unity” in the video below.
