'Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China' Inspiration For More 'Side-Scrolling' DLC Games To Come?

Ubisoft fans can look forward to more “Assassin's Creed Chronicles” in conjunction to the main franchise.

During an interview with Eurogamer, “Assassin's Creed Unity” Creative Director Alex Amancio explained devlopers enjoyed the “side-scrolling” idea for Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China”, and teased there may be more to come.

"I don't want to spoil the surprise," Amancio said, "but the idea is that we have this rich universe - we're going to use it."

“Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China” follows the story of Assassin Shao Jun, who was introduced as Ezio Auditore’s protégé early on in the franchise. Amancio told Eurogamer that “Chronicles” is a great way to explore the history of other famous Assassins.

"We really liked the side-scrolling idea, like Mark of the Ninja, and we thought it would be a really great way to explore some of the other universes we've created," Amancio told Eurogamer.

"One thing that's really cool is that every one of the chapters of this game will be in the art style representative of that era in time. This is why Shao Jun's game is like Chinese ink - very black and red.

"Once we have other characters and timeframes the art style will completely change to match that specific character."

“Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China” will be available for Ubisoft’s Season Pass holders for $29.99. Shao Jun’s journey takes place in 16th century China as she seeks revenge for those who murdered her fellow Assassins.

Season Pass holders will also be able to play the “Dead Kings” DLC for “Assassin’s Creed: Unity.” In “Dead Kings,” lead Assassin Arno will explore the catacombs of Saint Denis, France to see what secret lie underneath the city.

“Assassin’s Creed: Unity” for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, as well as “Assassin’s Creed: Rogue” for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will hit store shelves on Nov. 11.
