'Destiny' Update Teases New Locations In Upcoming Expansion, 'The Dark Below'

Bungie has released the latest update to their “Destiny” title and revealed what’s to come in “The Dark Below” expansion pack.

The developers have added channels for talking to matchmade teammates, increased the efficiency and upgrade capabilities for their exotic weapons, as well as given gamers new gear.

Players will also have access to new shaders for gear, increased the chance of “showers” in public spaces, fixed technical glitches and more. (Click here for the full update list)

However, the most interesting part of the update was Bungie revealing players will have access to some “real estate for you to reclaim” in “The Dark Below.”

“We’re also adding some mood and polish to untapped environments,” according to Bungie. “These are the things that turn an empty space into an experience – the sort that finds you fighting for your life.

“Our team has been weaving a new web to ensnare you. Sam Jones, our Head of World Art, has created an art gallery that explains why his team is excited to have you step back into their parlor.”

Players can explore “The Jovian Complex”, buried ruins under the “Mars the Hypogeum” and the “Chamber of Night.”

“Buried under the shifting sands of Mars the Hypogeum and its ancient secrets await discovery,” Bungie wrote. “Built by the Vex in another age altogether, this chamber of ancient power houses an extremely powerful and watchful guardian. Built by Jason Sussman (art owner of Mars) as a perfect complement to the Black Garden, this space is designed to deliver tight, directional combat.”
