Misty Upham Update: Father Charles Upham Believes Actress was Murdered, Begs FBI Involvement

There's still so much mystery surrounding the death of actress Misty Upham, and her father, Charles Upham, isn't going to rest until the family gets some answers. Charles has said several times that he does not believe his daughter committed suicide.

Last week, a medical examiner's office released the cause of death and said Misty died from blunt force trauma to the head and torso. What happened leading up to her death is still being investigated, even though police have said that she fell.

Charles is now asking the FBI to get involved in the case, according to Hollywood Life. Reportedly, the family was given new information that hints that Misty's death might have involved foul play or could have been a murder.

"The medical examiner released a report that Misty's death was due to blunt force trauma to the head and torso but could not determine the manner of death," Charles told Hollywood Life.

Misty died on Oct. 5, the same day her family reported her as missing, but her body was not found until 11 days later. Family and friends searching for the actress found Misty at the bottom of a ravine in a suburb outside of Seattle.

"We have been provided with new information that Misty met with foul play. No details are known at this time," he said.

"The medical examiner was contacted and notified with this new information, and urged the Upham family to get the FBI involved. The Upham family has reported the matter to the police and requested that the FBI be involved in the investigation. Detective Loran Orvis responded by email and acknowledged receiving the information and said she would pass it on to her supervisors."

Charles has constantly said that the Auburn police did very little to help find his daughter. He told US Weekly that he believes if they would have acted sooner, they would have found Misty alive, or at least been able to have an open casket at her funeral.

"We the family organized the search and rescue when the Auburn PD refused to help," Charles told Hollywood Life.

"Now our friends and family are launching our own investigation in the disappearance of Misty. It is our hope that this information is not true but in the case it is we want answers and justice for Misty."
