If you missed the midseason premiere of ABC's "How to Get Away With Murder," then stop reading now because this article contains major spoilers. The crime drama returned Thursday night and it was awesome!
Annalise didn't bat an eye as she lied to two detectives about what went down on murder night and her plan to cover up her husband Sam's death is working. At least for now, it is. Micaela and Connor tried to run to the police but Annalise talked them out of it.
She also worked her courtroom magic and cleared her client, Rebecca, of Lila's murder by pinning it on her "missing" husband. It was also revealed that Sam is the father of Lila's baby and he tried to force her to get an abortion but she refused.
The episode ended with a mystery character catching Annalise completely off-guard. Say hello to Hannah (Marcia Gay Harden), Sam's sister who is determined to find her brother.
Before the midseason premiere Viola Davis (Annalise) dished about the new character and teased that Hannah is going to bring trouble for Annalise and Keating-Five.
"It's a woman who just never really embraced her in the family. You'll see that relationship be very contentious because it's a woman who just never accepted me. She never saw me," Davis told E! Online. "She loved Sam's ex-wife much more than she loved me. She was more an acceptable mate for Sam. But it was never spoken, of course, so you'll see a lot of butting heads because there's a hesitance on Hannah's part to admit she never accepted me."
Davis also said that Hannah believes Annalise killed Sam and could be a wrench in the group's cover-up. However, Annalise is willing to do whatever it takes to keep herself and her students out of prison.
"It gets more complicated as the episodes go along. I know that she's willing to do anything," Davis said.
E! also reports that Hannah might have a little help in trying to take Annalise down. Reportedly, Bonnie and Hannah become fast friends after she finds out that her boss told Frank about the cover-up and not her.
"There's going to be a fallout when she finds out what happened," Davis said. "Marcia Gay Harden's character is going to be searching for answers as well and I think part of that search may be compelling to Bonnie."
