Bobbi Kristina Brown's aunt is insisting that her niece is going to be "OK." The 21-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown has been in a medically induced coma for over a week after she was found face down in a filled bathtub at her Georgia home.
There were reports that the family would end Bobbi Kristina's (nicknamed "Krissi") life support on Wednesday, Feb. 11 - the same date of her mother's death - but Bobby Brown's sister, Leolah Brown, denied the rumor.
"It's been very, very painful for everybody. Mainly Bobby, because that's his baby," she said in an interview with Atlanta's Fox 5 TV station.
Leolah added that the family was "hopeful" Bobbi Kristina would recover and said there's been "so many signs showing us that she will be OK. Krissi is fine."
Even though Bobbi Kristina is still on life support, Leolah said "she's opening her eyes."
"Krissi is doing well right now. She is," the aunt added.
According to USA Today, Leolah refused to comment on reports that Bobbi Kristina has bruises around her mouth but did speak about her niece's longtime boyfriend, Nick Gordon, saying that he wasn't a good influence for Bobbi Kristina.
"I have my reasons," she said, adding that she thinks he will be charged in the criminal investigation surrounding Bobbi Kris. "Oh yes, 100 percent ... I HOPE that he will be charged ... soon."
As for the rumored feud between the Browns and the Houstons, Leolah denied any fighting and said that everyone is "trying to stay strong." On Monday, the family held a public vigil for Bobbi Kristina and asked the public to continue praying that she recovers.
"There has been no change," a family source told People magazine. "We are hoping that God will see fit to perform a miracle in her, so that he will get the glory."
