Insidious 2 News: First Clip of New Film Takes us Back to Final Scene of the First Movie (WATCH)

The first clip of “Insidious: Chapter 2” is here, according to Dread Central.com and it’s a good one. The one-minute plus video reflects on what happened at the end of the first movie and how it is probably totally messing with the Lambert family in the second movie.

For those of you who don’t remember what happened at the end of the first movie let me give you a refresher course.

Josh Lambert (Patrick Wilson) was forced to go into “The Further” to retrieve his son Dalton (Ty Simpkins) who is capable of astral projection but has traveled too far. While in “The Further” Josh encounters some creepy things but eventually makes it out in with Dalton. However, at the end of the movie we learn the scary demon woman who has been haunting his Dalton used to haunt Josh. Much to the dismay of the Lambert family, she seems to have possessed Josh at the end of the movie.

Elise Rainier, the medium, finds something strange about Josh and snaps a picture of him. Josh—who is really the creepy demon woman—chokes Elaine to death. When we get to see what was in Elaine’s picture, the camera does not show Josh’s face bit the face of the woman.

It seems Miranda Lambert (Rose Byrne) is in an interrogation room and being questioned. We can’t be sure if she is a suspect or witness. However, she is describing the final incident of the first movie in which she finds Elise dead. She runs around the house trying to find Josh and eventually picks up the camera from near Elise’s body. She looks into the camera and sees the old lady. When Josh finally enters the room, she stares at him suspiciously while he denies having anything to do with Elise’s death. As the detective asks Miranda, “Did you believe him?” the screen fades to black.

So why was Elaine being interrogated? Is she a suspect or a witness? Personally, I think she had to kill Josh to save her family, but that’s just my opinion.

“Insidious: Chapter 2” hits theaters on Sept. 13.
