The royal baby boy was born to Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, and husband Prince William on Monday and now Britain and the rest of the world are playing the royal baby guessing game.
After a long wait and countless guessing games as to the gender of the royal baby, the news broke on Monday that the happy royal couple welcomed a healthy boy at 4:24 p.m. and weighed a health 8 pounds 6 ounces, according to the CNN.
The royal baby name has not yet been announced and there is no indication yet as to when it will be. However, the royal baby will officially be known as His or Her Royal Highness Prince or Princess [Name] of Cambridge.
According to Paddy Power, a betting website based in England, the names George and James lead the way with (2/1) and (5/2) odds respectively. Other names topping the list include Alexander (8/1), Richard (9/1), Louis (11/1), Philip and Henry (both 12/1).
Kate Middleton checked into St. Mary's Hospital in London early Monday morning and was reported to be in labor for hours, as England and the world waited anxiously for the announcement of the royal baby.
The hospital, next to Paddington Station in London, is where William and his brother Prince Harry were born, according to the report.
A bulletin containing the announcement will also be taken by car to Buckingham Palace to be placed on an easel at the palace gates for the public to see. Initially, officials had planned to place the bulletin on the easel before issuing the news electronically, but changed course shortly before the birth news came.
The royal baby boy will be third in line to the British throne, behind Prince Charles and William. William is second in line, right behind his father, Prince Charles. The baby moves ahead of Prince Harry, who's now fourth in line.
