According to new documents, Justin Bieber will not be charged in the case of an alleged hit-and-run incident that occurred back in June.
The files, which were obtained by E! News, show authorities decided not to charge the pop star on the grounds he was unaware he hit anyone; giving him no reason to stop.
The incident occurred when Bieber was leaving The Laugh Factory in West Hollywood. Video from TMZ shows the 19-year-old was surrounded by paparazzi as he entered into his white Ferrari. As the photographers continued to snap pictures, Bieber drove off, leaving one man on the ground holding his knee.
"There were over a dozen paparazzi surrounding his car and on the sidewalk, and it was noisy with camera flashes and bright lights surrounding him," notes from investigators read. "Security had motioned for Bieber that it was clear to leave, and the video showed a clear path for the car until [the photographer] suddenly stepped in front of it."
The notes also explained that Bieber's engine is very loud and "given the chaotic scene and stress of the situation," it is plausible that the teen sensation had no idea he hit someone.
These observations led to the conclusion he would not be charged because there was insufficient evidence that he left the scene aware someone was injured. This is not Bieber's first lucky break this week.
The singer recently escaped legal trouble when marijuana was found on his tour bus during a border search between Canada and Detroit. Bieber was not on the bus at the time, and no charges were brought against him.
And the good luck keeps on coming.
During a recent tour stop in New Jersey, Bieber was presented an award for his song "Baby," which has reportedly become the most-sold single in U.S. history.
"First and foremost, I want to thank all of my Beliebers in the audience tonight," he said in a brief acceptance speech. "And all my Beliebers at home, and my mom for always believing in me."
