Dallas Cowboys News: Brandon Carr Sees Son's Birth on FaceTime; 'Technology is Wonderful These Days'

Living in the sports world can create for some pretty peculiar moments in the personal lives of athletes. A recent example of this included Dallas Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr, according to the Star-Telegram.com.

Carr’s fiance, who had been expecting, went into labor earlier this week and the Cowboys corner was not able to make it to the delivery. However, he was still able to watch the birth of his son Austin—through FaceTime.

"I saw everything I needed to see," Carr said. "I saw it all. Technology is wonderful these days. Sometimes you can’t control what’s going to happen. You’ve just got to go with the flow. I made the most of it."

Carr missed two days of training camp as he returned home to see his newborn son and spend time with his family. He rejoined the team in training camp Thursday.

"No sleep at all, but I wouldn’t want it any other way," said Carr. "It was a good feeling to be there and actually see your first son. I’m still trying to gather my thoughts and bring it all in. The last two days have been good. It’s a blessed feeling."

After his mini-vacation, the Grand Valley State product is looking forward to getting back on the field.

"I’m ready to get it on," Carr said. "I’m pretty fresh and ready to get out there and run around and get some action finally and get ready for the season."

The Cowboys are scheduled to play their second preseason game Friday against the Oakland Raiders. The team won their first game by a score of 24-20 against the Miami Dolphins.

Carr had 53 tackles and three interceptions in 2012.
