The Weeknd's hit singles have been taking over the Billboard charts and now his album has earned the top spot!
His third album, "Beauty Behind the Madness," officially scored the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart, making it the second-biggest album debut this year, according to Billboard. Drake's "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" was the only other album so far to have a bigger debut, with 535,000 copies sold in its first week. The Weeknd had a total of 326,000 albums sold in its debut week.
"Beauty Behind the Madness," released Aug. 28 by XO/Republic Records, is the third consecutive top 10 album for the 25-year-old R&B singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye. There have been three singles off of this album — "Earned It," "Can't Feel My Face" and "The Hills" — that have reached the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, helping the album rise to the top.
Another song on the album that's bound to be a huge hit is the Kanye West-produced "Tell Your Friends," according to MTV. In this week's edition of the OVO Sound Radio Beats 1, Drake did an awesome freestyle to the song. The two have worked together in the past and fans can only hope they'll be working together again in the future.
Just this past weekend, The Weeknd continued to amaze as he closed out Philadelphia's Made in America festival, performing all of his hits for a crowd of more than 70,000 people, according to Yahoo. He even performed his own cover of Beyoncé's "Drunk in Love." With Beyoncé headlining the festival the night before, and her husband Jay-Z being the founder of Made in America, this became one of the most memorable moments from the weekend — and The Weeknd.
