Frankie Muniz Suggests ‘Malcolm In The Middle’ Reboot

There is no shortage of reboots and sequels on television right now, but actor Frankie Muniz had a great idea for a "Malcolm in the Middle" reboot. Nine years after the series ended, Muniz tweeted an idea for a hypothetical show on Monday night that would explore his character Malcolm as an adult.

"How fun would 'Malcolm In The Mid-life Crisis' be? I wonder what Malcolm and his family would be up to now," Muniz wrote on his Twitter account. Muniz was then asked if his suggestion was being taken seriously, "just gaging interest... We'll see...," he said.

"Malcolm in the Middle" ran for seven seasons on Fox before it ended in 2006, reported Entertainment Weekly. Muniz starred as the title character, Malcolm, a gifted middle child in a family of three other boys with parents played by Jane Kaczmarek and a pre-Walter White Bryan Cranston.

"Malcolm in the Middle" received an incredible 33 Emmy nominations during its run and made Frankie Muniz a household name, according to Unreality TV.

Back in November 2013, Cranston, who played Malcolm's dad Hal, teamed up with his former on-screen wife Kaczmarek to film a hilarious alternative ending to his critically acclaimed show "Breaking Bad." The pair brought back their characters in the four minute short and suggested that Walter White and the entire plot of "Breaking Bad" was actually just a dream Hal had, according to TheWrap.
