Paul Walker's daughter Meadow wanted to do something extra special this year to celebrate what would have been the late actors 42nd birthday.
Meadow, 16, took to social media on Saturday to not only wish her father a happy birthday in heaven, but to explain that she will be launching a foundation, The Paul Walker Foundation, in his honor.
"Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions," she captioned the adorable throwback photo of the two. "His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill."
She then went on to explain how she made the proud decision to start this foundation on his birthday so she could "share that piece of him with the world." "I can't think of a better way to celebrate my father," she added. Meadow then posted the same photo to the new official Instagram page for the foundation, which already has over 50,000 followers.
"The Paul Walker Foundation is to serve as an enduring light of Paul's unique spirit, far reaching goals and spontaneous goodwill," the website reads. "Meadow is excited to be carrying on his legacy. One of the key ways [Meadow] plans to meet this challenge is by helping ocean leaders of tomorrow become beacons in the fight to protect our oceans, wildlife, and ourselves."
This non-profit organization will provide grants and scholarships to selected students and researchers who are pursuing marine science education or working towards developments in the field. "Leaving people better educated," the website reads. "And better equipped to deal with the challenges of tomorrow."
They have partnered with the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which was one of Paul's favorite places, and the Ocean Futures Society, according to People.
"Continuing his spontaneous goodwill has no boundaries," it continues to say on the website. "This is something we can all practice daily. The foundation is passing the torch to Meadow as we are all inspired to live like Paul, full of heart, character and spontaneous acts of goodwill that will be impactful beyond our years."
