The comedy reign of Amy Schumer continued last night as the comedian hosted "Saturday Night Live" for the first time.
Schumer opened up "SNL" with a long monologue in which she touched on Hillary Clinton, Bradley Cooper, the status of women in Hollywood, and of course, the Kardashian family.
"We have to be a good role model for these little girls because who do they have? All they have, literally, is the Kardashians," she said. "She doesn't have a Malala poster in her room - trust me. Is that a great message for little girls? A whole family of women that take the faces they were born with as a light suggestion?"
The "Trainwreck" star then moved on to a more serious topic, gun control. The host starred in a commercial spoofing the love Americans have for guns in a PSA titled "Guns: We're here to stay." The skit featured events from everyday life, a romantic dinner date, a woman running through a park and a couple getting ready to have a baby. The fake PSA goes on to put guns into normal situations like using a gun instead of a bottle for "spin-the-bottle."
"They unite us, comfort us, and bring us strength," Schumer's character said. "Guns, we're here to stay."
