Yesterday, Oct. 21, 2015 was the date Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd's characters, Marty McFly and Doc Brown, went to in the future in "Back to the Future Part II." During Wednesday night's episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" the two actors, dressed as their iconic characters, stepped out of their time-traveling DeLorean onto the soundstage in modern day Brooklyn where Kimmel is hosting his show for the week.
"What happened to Johnny Carson?" asked Doc when they crashed Kimmel's monologue as the "Back to the Future" music played in the background.
Like the rest of the world, McFly and Brown were surprised to learn that there were no flying cars or hoverboards in 2015.
"2015 kind of sucks," McFly said to Kimmel's audience.
The pair were quite surprised to learn that people in 2015 watch TV a little differently than how they used to as Kimmel explained viewers would be watching them "on their phones on the toilet tomorrow."
"I believe we may have inadvertently traveled into an alternate 2015," Brown told McFly, "where human evolution has been stopped by superfluous technology... and Biff reigns supreme." (Biff Henderson from the "Late Show with David Letterman made a cameo at this point instead of the Biff character from the "Back to the Future" films.)
Also making a cameo in the skit, singer Huey Lewis who appeared in the first "Back to the Future" flick and sang its theme song, "The Power of Love."
