Adrian Peterson is reportedly a father of five. Days after his two-year-old son died, a Minnesota waitress came forward with claims that the football player is the father to her three-month-old daughter. Now TMZ is reporting that another woman has come forward with claims that Peterson is the father of her 4-year-old son.
Sources told TMZ that Erica Syion, a former dancer, met Peterson in Houston a couple years ago. Reportedly Peterson and Syion have a financial agreement and the Minnesota Viking running back pays for the child's schooling and living expenses.
The anonymous source said the two met in 2007 but lately their relationship has "deteriorated." Peterson is said to be very much involved in the child's life (TMZ was able to obtain pictures of him with the little boy and mother) but Syion is the primary parent.
This new claim comes right after a Minnesota nightclub waitress allegedly revealed on Facebook that Peterson was her daughter's father.
"Today has been a long day finding out my [daughter's] brother passed away and knowing that she never even got to meet him," the woman said the day Peterson's son was taken off life support. There's no word on if these allegations are true and as of now TMZ is the only one's confirming it.
Peterson returned to Minnesota to play in Sunday's (Oct. 13) game just two days after his son's death. He explained to Fox Sports Laura Okmin that he was returning to the field so it would help him heal. The athlete had learned about his son two or three months ago and was planning a trip to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to see the toddler.
When he got news that the little boy was in the hospital, he dropped everything and left.
"My brother passed the night before the combine and I decided to go through with it. The same reason why I will play this week," he wrote. "You may ask why? God wants good to come from it.. We mourn and grieve but Heaven had the baddest welcome party for my son. That knowledge gives me peace. I'm still hurt and feel the pain of life, but I'm able to function because of the peace and joy of knowing my loved ones are in a much better place."
According to TMZ, Peterson will be returning to South Dakota for the funeral and wants to keep in touch with the mother.
