Denzel Washington has been nominated for the lifetime achievement Cecil B. DeMille award at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards in January, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced on Monday.
"Washington's long and storied career is earmarked by his countless roles in front and behind the camera," Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Lorenzo Soria said in a statement.
"The Equalizer" star already has two Golden Globes to his name, including one for playing the role of professional boxer Rubin Carter in the 1999 biopic "The Hurricane" and another for his performance in 1989's Civil War drama "Glory," according to USA Today.
George Clooney was honored at last year's award ceremony, joining the likes of Woody Allen, Walt Disney, Jodie Foster and Robin Williams, who are previous recipients of the Cecil B. DeMille honor, as HNGN reported.
The 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Ricky Gervais, will air live on NBC on Jan. 10, 2016.
