Hollywood actor Tom Hanks paid tribute on Twitter to his "Big" co-star Robert Loggia, who died on Friday at the age of 85, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Both Loggia and Hanks worked together in the 1988 film "Big" where the former played the kind-hearted toy company owner. "Farewell, Robert Loggia. A great actor in heart and soul ... A sad day. Hanx," the actor wrote on his official Twitter page.
Other actors and actresses who paid tribute include Elizabeth Perkins, who starred in the film alongside Hanks and Loggia, as well as Seth MacFarlane, Kevin Spacey, John Cusack and Roland Emmerich. "Rest peacefully kind, gentle, affectionate Robert Loggia. One of the loveliest people I've ever known," Perkins tweeted.
Loggia died in his home in Los Angeles on Friday after a five-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. His film credits include "Scarface," "Prizzi's Honor" and "Lost Highway." He also had several roles in television namely, "The Sopranos," "Mancuso, FBI," "Men of a Certain Age," and "Hawaii Five-O" as well as lending his voice on "Family Guy."
Loggia was survived by his wife of 33 years, Aubrey, his three children from his first marriage - Tracy, John and Kristina - and stepdaughter, Cynthia, HNGN previously reported.
