‘Force Awakens’ Hollywood Premiere: Fans React Positively To New Film

Lucky "Star Wars" fans that got the opportunity of a lifetime to take part in the Hollywood premiere of the new film "Episode VII - The Force Awakens" on Monday evening are leaving good news to those who have yet to see it. Based on their reactions, it seems that the new Star Wars film is living up to expectations of die-hard fans after feeling dissatisfied with the previously released prequel trilogy, the Daily Mail reported.

Audiences inside the TLC Chinese Theater could not help but cheer by the time the first words of the film appeared on the big screen and reacted with sheer excitement when fan favorites Han Solo and Chewbacca came back after 32 years.

New characters, namely Captain Phasma (played Gwendoline Christie) and Rey (portrayed by Daisy Ridley) were well-received by long-term fans, as well as the numerous twists and turns of the film, according to the Sentinel and Express.

The Hollywood premiere of "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" has been highly anticipated, with the Hollywood Boulevard's half-mile section being closed due to traffic and an opaque tent lining four blocks of it.

The Los Angeles Police said extra vehicle patrols and officers on foot were also deployed on the area. Police dogs were also sent in to go through the tent blanketing the red carpet and audience members went through metal detectors, Fox News reported.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will officially hit theaters on Dec. 18.
