Caitlyn Jenner has topped many retrospective lists of 2015, so it should come as no surprise that Barbara Walters named her the Most Fascinating Person of the year.
Jenner turned heads this summer when she made her debut as a woman on the cover of Vanity Fair, dressed only in an off-white corset. The cover read, "Call me, Caitlyn."
Walters cited her ability to raise awareness for transgender issues, despite those who criticized Jenner for not facing the same discrimination and vitriol other transgender people face on a daily basis, especially younger members of the community.
The reality TV star, formerly known as Bruce, did not sit down with Walters for a one-on-one interview like other on her most fascinating list (UFC fighter Ronda Rousey also skipped the interview portion). The ABC News anchor instead focused on Jenner's life and career including the 1976 Summer Olympics, numerous commercials, marrying Kris Kardashian and eventually putting her new life on screen in the E! docuseries, "I Am Cait."
Walters' other most fascinating people of 2015 were actor Bradley Cooper, actress-comedian Amy Schumer, ballerina Misty Copeland, actor-comedian Tracy Morgan, fashion designer Donna Karan, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Democratic presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders and Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump.
