Following rumors about the resolution of Infinity Ward's upcoming title "Call of Duty: Ghosts," which caused a stir online this week, a member of the game development team has had to come out and put these rumors to bed.
Infinity Ward's Mark Rubin has confirmed that "Call of Duty: Ghosts" will run natively at 1080p on PlayStation 4 and is upscaled to 1080p from 720p on Xbox One, according to IGN.
"We optimized each console to hit 60GPS and the game looks great on both," he said.
The franchise, which turned ten years old this week, has been gearing up for the upcoming launch of the new "Call of Duty" installment by showing a series of stats from an infographic with information such as the number of bullets fired since "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" first came out as well as how many Great Walls of China all of the care packages dropped in that time amount to.
Activision and Infinity Ward also took the opportunity this week to reveal their version of the popular Zombies game mode that has been made popular by Treyarch in its incarnations of the "Call of Duty" franchise - Extinction Mode.
Extinction Mode will put players and their friends against a horde of alien monsters while they defend a nuke that you are trying to launch. The game hits store shelves in early November for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U. Following the release of the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, the game will be available for both of those next-generation consoles.
