It's no secret that 2015 has been a hectic year for Anna Duggar and her family, but the "19 Kids and Counting" star is finally trying to move on from the exposure surrounding Josh Duggar's sex and cheating scandal.
In a statement released on the Duggar family blog, Anna Duggar opened up about how difficult the past year was, but despite her family's troubling situation, the mother of four explained that she has been able to turn to her faith as her relationship with God has improved.
"Many have asked how I am doing. So many have asked that it's actually humbling and touching. 2015 was the most difficult year of my life," the 27-year-old reality star began her post. "Yet, amazingly I've found that in my own life crisis God has drawn near to me ('He's near to the brokenhearted' Psalms 34:18) and my faith has been more precious to me than ever before."
In May, a 2006 police report exposed Josh Duggar's involvement in an underage sexual abuse case where he was accused of molesting five minor girls, including four of his sisters, when he was a teenager. In August, he confessed to being addicted to pornography and admitted to cheating on his wife using the adultery website, Ashley Madison - following the website's data breach.
His extramarital affairs made his family a target, leading to their "19 Kids" series being cancelled and the family being investigated.
Josh Duggar is currently seeking treatment for sex addiction at a faith-based Reformers Unanimous treatment program in Rockford, Ill., where Anna recently stopped by to check on him. She said visiting her husband was "an important step on a long difficult road." She also expressed her gratitude to their fans for their prayers and encouraging messages
"Just recently I visited Josh. It was an important step on a long difficult road," she shared. "I want to thank all of you for your prayers and your messages of hope. I can never express how your kindness and prayers have brought encouragement when I needed it most - outpacing the grief and discouragement at every turn."
"I trust that God will continue to show His love and tenderness toward us and bring beauty from ashes-somehow - as only He can do. Please continue to pray for me, Josh and our children."
The couple share four children together - 6-year-old Mackynzie, 4-year-old Michael, 2-year-old Marcus and 5-month-old Meredith.
