Enrique Iglesias Sets Two Guinness World Records: Most No. 1 Songs, Longest Stay At No. 1

Enrique Iglesias is a Guinness world record setter. In fact, Iglesias is so good, he did it twice! And, this week, he was recognized for his two Guinness World Records feats.

The first record Iglesias set is for the most No. 1 singles on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart, reported Latina. He has been No. 1 on the chart an incredible 26 times. He earned his first No. 1 hit in 1995 ("Si Tu Te Vas"), and was back at No. 1 for a number of weeks last year with his smash hit "Bailando."

Speaking of "Bailando," that is the song that earned Iglesias his second Guinness World Record. Guinness recognized the tune for having the longest stay at No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart. It held the top position for an astonishing 41 weeks from May 17, 2014, until Feb. 25, 2015, according to Latin Post.

Iglesias was ecstatic by the news of setting these milestones, according to NBC Latino. He wrote a message of gratitude on Instagram that said: "Thank you @guinnessworldrecords for these 2 certificates! Can't thank you guys enough for making these TWO world records possible."

He also commented to NBC Latino about how setting the records is the realization of a childhood dream. "When I was a kid, I would follow [the] Guinness book and keep updated on all the new records. It feels so unreal to be included in the book with all those unbelievable feats," said Iglesias.
