A few days ago, Bobbi Kristina Brown's autopsy results were released to the public for the first time since she passed in July 2015 at age 22. The reports revealed that she died from "lobar pneumonia" due to a combination of drugs and drowning, although her death is still under investigation as her boyfriend Nick Gordon is currently facing a $10 million wrongful death lawsuit as it is believed he gave her a "toxic cocktail" and placed her in the bathtub the day she was discovered unconscious.
Shortly after the autopsy results were released, Gordon, 20, was seen leaving the gated community in Florida where he lives with his mother Michelle and said: "I'm glad that s--t is all over. I just want to wish my girl a happy birthday. I can't say any more but it's good." While it's unclear where his lawsuit stands, the autopsy apparently "backs up his claim" that he did not kill Bobbi Kristina.
Gordon's lawyers Jose Baez and Joe S. Habachy have now released a statement on his behalf. "Nick Gordon's life has been tumultuous since January of 2015 when he lost the love of his life," the statement read. "On top of being prohibited from visiting Bobbi Kristina at the hospital for the last six months of her life, Nick has been publicly humiliated for more than a year. Throughout that time, the Fulton County District Attorney's office has tried to make Nick a murderer despite having clear and convincing evidence that Bobbi Kristina's death was nothing more than a tragic accident, evidence that the DA's office fought to seal and conceal from the public rather than allowing her fans to know the truth."
The statement continued on, claiming Gordon had done nothing wrong from the start. "The truth is that Nick tried to save Bobbi Kristina's life," the lawyers added. "The truth is that Nick cooperated with law enforcement since day one. The truth is that no one loved Bobbi Kristina more than Nick and no one has suffered more as a result of her death than Nick."
Baez and Habachy then explained how since the Fulton Country DA Office has had 13 months to investigate this case, they have "failed to acknowledge that there is simply no evidence of any wrongdoing" and that they have "in essence helped feed the slanderous media frenzy regarding Nick Gordon."
His attorneys want the DA's office to "tell the public the truth" as they believe this was not a murder, and that it was all an accident or even a possible suicide. "And the right thing for everyone to do is let Nick live his life now," they concluded. "And let Bobbi Kristina rest in peace."
Bobbi Kristina's father Bobby Brown, on the other hand, is not pleased that her cause of death was made public. "First and foremost, 23 years ago today, Bobbi Kristina was born. Krissy will always live in my heart and soul. I love my baby girl," he said Friday. "For news affiliates to seek and obtain my daughter's autopsy report before anyone has been brought to justice for her death is mind-blowing to me."
